DAILYMAIL.CO.UK REPORTS / AUSTRALIA – She represented Australia at Eurovison in 2016 and came second place in the overall competition with her euphoric performance singing Sounds of Silence.
And now Dami Im has revealed what it’s like behind-the-scenes on the competition and said she gave this year’s contestant Kate Miller-Heidke some friendly advice before her performance.
During an episode of Today Extra on Wednesday, the 30-year-old revealed that she told Kate the competition is a lot more ‘brutal’ than what is portrayed on television.
“It’s really hard! I just told her that, ‘It’s going to be a long process. It’s not just one performance you see on TV’, Dami said. “It’s weeks of performing at different places and you’ll get to meet everybody, so just try and save your energy for your big performances.”
Dami explained that the reality of being a contestant on Eurovision is having to cope with long days and a lot of hard work.
‘The schedule is really brutal. You’ve got to do interviews and you’ve got all these extra performances, so it’s [the competition is] really hard,’ she said.
