BELARUS – Dmitry Karyakin, lead singer of the Litesound group, revealed this morning in social networks that, contrary to what was planned, the group will not perform at the Closing Ceremony of the 2019 European Games, a sporting event held in Minsk with the participation of more than 4000 athletes from 50 European countries.
However, the singer claimed that the late cancellation of the tonight’s ceremony at Dinamo Stadium is a revenge for his participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012:
“Participation in Eurovision was our dream, but it has also become our We have made rare appearances on television in these seven years and never participated in important events. At the state broadcaster, our participation was canceled … Whatever happens behind the prohibitions, there are evidence and witnesses.”
Dmitry assured that “he thought things had changed and there was hope of passing this wall,” lamenting “the hard work done, with an arrangement recorded with an orchestra in Moscow.”
Lamenting that it was the second cancellation in a single week, “is it still not enough to stop us from” punishing “for Eurovision,” he said, recalling that the group participated in the event in Baku after Alyona Lanskaya was disqualified in competition, for corruption of votes.
