BELARUS – Producer Viktor Drobysh intends to sue the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) because of the scandal with the voting of Belarus at Eurovision-2019. He reported this to RIA Novosti.
“They (EBU) inflicted enormous damage on relations between Russia and Belarus, just to people and, in particular, to me as an individual, who suddenly became an enemy of the Russian people, who were not given points. In fact, we they didn’t just make it impossible to vote, but at the last moment gave an envelope and made them announce the results they came up with. It has nothing to do with the decision of the jury and the people.” says the producer.
According to Drobysh, the jury members offered to voice live, that these are not Belarus points, but EBU, but they were forbidden.
“Then there would be a scandal, because it is impossible, because if it’s not our voices, then it was necessary to say so,” added the source to RIA Novosti.
Before the finals of the international song contest, which was held on May 18, it became known that the Belarusian jury of Eurovision was disqualified due to disclosure of information about which countries they gave points in the first semi-final.
However, when the points were announced during the final stage, the representative of Belarus did go on the air and announced how his country had voted. At the same time, the Russian performer Sergey Lazarev was not awarded points.
