GREECE – Eurovision is just around the corner and, like every year, this year, ERT will present the 41 entries in the contest … but differently. Hosts of the two shows will be George Kapoutzidis and Maria Kozakou, the Eurovision commentators for ERT.
Each country will be presented by Eurostars such as Robert Williams, Bessie Argyraki and Paschalis. The singers spoke in public service broadcasting and said the show was timeless, as their participation in the institution took place four decades ago.
Also in the show will be the presenter Fotis Sergoulopoulos, the actor Jerome Kaluta, the karate champion Elena Hatziladou and fans.
What we noticed from the photos released by ERT is that legendary and former Eurovision commentator, Eurovision Queen Daphne Bokota was also invited. It is the first time ERT management allows any approach to Ms Bokota.
There were efforts aback in 2013-2015 to restore the relations between ERT and Ms Bokota, who was forced into resignation from Eurovision project in early 2005 as the ERT officials decided back then to replace Ms Bokota with Alexandra Paschalidou.
Few years later Ms Bokota published a book in which it was obvious that ERT wanted her out of Eurovision due to her optical beliefs.
During the two shows broadcast we will see (among others) the 1977 participants (without Mariana Toli who recently died), 1978. entrant Elpida and 2007 commentator Fotis Sergoulopoulos.
The shows will be featured on May 11 and 12 and we cannot be more than thrilled to see Queen Daphne back to ERT headquarters even for a guest show appearance.
