GREECE – “Hi to all. I’m Katerina Duska. The big day of the final came. The moment we all expected!”, was the message she wrote to social media the Greek-born singer a few minutes before going to the International Covention Center (ICC), also known as Tel Aviv Fairgrounds, to represent our country in the 64th final of Eurovision .
A few months after the Eurovision Song Contest, the 29-year-old songwriter speaks to ethnos.gr about this great experience that lived last May, winning the warm applause of the audience.
“I have gained so much through this experience. I feel more mature and more complete than ever as a professional. My desire was, from the outset, to present an overall proposal of artistic value and personally I feel we did it. I feel that many people connected with us, I received a burst of love messages. I am currently working with offices in Europe and America, while working on my new album in London with the most perfect collaborators I could imagine. I owe this to the opportunity that the contest brought me to present my work to a global audience, “says the 29-year-old singer.
For Katerina, “Better Love” is not just an erotic song. “I wanted to offer a message of optimism that goes beyond the limits we put in love, either to others or to ourselves. The presentation had art-pop elements and I feel it represents me. I love pop music, I am interested in entertaining the audience, but not only. At the same time, I wanted to be accompanied by a picture of power for the woman, a battle of love in which women are led.”
It is worth mentioning that for a long time “Better Love” was the first in Greece, and it entered 50 charts of foreign countries, including the Viral Global Top 50. “This was something I did not even imagine in my craziest dreams. I am very proud of Better Love’s progress and look forward to the next chapter, which I will present to you soon, “he says proudly.
“In my own space, I have not experienced anything serious, but I have felt devalued, it is clearly a male-dominated place that we do not find many women in the role of songwriter, producer, sound engineer and orchestra. It is a very important time for women, we need to get more consciousness, listening to the stories of everyone without suspicion and questioning and intercourse. There is a current and we can not ignore it, ” Katerina said.
Tomorrow, Katerina Duska will give us the opportunity to enjoy her at Technopoli-Gazi along with loved Minor Project and Matina Sous Peau. “I look forward to it. I have spent this two months in the studio writing my new material and I miss the scene very much. Technopolis is one of the city’s venues that I dream of playing for years as headliner. It will also have a full moon, so what else can I ask for? We will play our own songs from the previous album along with songs of my favorite songs. Let’s stress that entry will be free for everyone. I feel that with this live one circle closes before the next album comes in.”
