ITALY – The 71st San Remo Festival will be held with 25 artists rather than 24, as artistic director, Amadeus announced at a press conference held within the framework of San Remo Giovani, which will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, December 15th.
According to rumours, the artists who finish first and second in the San Remo Giovani category will receive a ticket to the San Remo Campioni category. Amadeus, on the other hand, announced that the top three finalists would be guaranteed a spot in the big category.
His proposal was accepted by RAI, and three young artists will be able to realize their dream next February.
A total of 12 artists will compete in San Remo Giovani 2021, with the night’s outcome being judged by Amadeus and the jury that selected them in half. The television audience will have no say in this decision.
The three artists will join the already-known 22 artists who make up the competition team.
💥 "L’intero podio di domani merita di essere a #Sanremo2022: saranno 3 i giovani che parteciperanno come 'Big'".

Big names in the Italian music industry were excluded from the pre-selection, where they displayed their reactions in various ways. Initially, the Kolors did not express their feelings but instead unfollowed Amadeus on Instagram.
“We have submitted 25 songs and there are 25 rejections,” said The Jalisse, who hold the festival record for the most rejections with 25. We don’t appear to have enough space at the festival.”
The final list disappointed both Fransesco Monte and rapper Tha Supreme. Indeed, the latter expressed his displeasure that Mahmoud and Blanco were favourites, implying that artists of his generation were imitating him.
