ROMANIA – On July 3rd the song “S’Agapao” (I Love You) released in Romania. The song is penned by the 2018 Greek entry composer, Aris Kalimeris, a man who hasn’t denied the idea of setting his eyes for a Eurovision return (and why not with Romania, a country in which he has been working for years).
The song is performed by Alama feat. Nicole Cherry and Pacha Man. Alama (aka Vangelis Siakas) is Greek-Romanian producer living in Romania and one of the upcoming stars in the country. He is known from his collaborations with VEGAS group and Join’ Through. Nicole is also an upcoming star in Romania with international collaborations and Pacha Man is a well known Romanian rapper.
The song is released with mainly Greek lyrics due to the descent of Alama. But the truth is that Greek lyrics are quite popular. Just remember a decade ago what a success the songs of Despoina Vandi were in Romania.
We spotted Aris Kalimeris recently at the MAD Video Music Awards 2018 and having a small private talk he seems quite relaxed now that the Eurovision storm has gone. He appreciates the fact that no matter the result, Greeks were not negative to him and Yianna Terzi. He also met with the Czech participant, Mikolas Josef with whom they hung out a lot in Lisbon.
