PRESS RELEASE / UKRAINE – UA: PBC announced the hosts of the televised final of the national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 to be held on 24 October. The show will be hosted by the TV presenter Viktor Diachenko together with the singer and representative of Ukraine at Junior Eurovision 2018 Darina Krasnovetska.
Darina performed first in the running order and finished fourth at Junior Eurovision 2018.
“This is the first time I will be a TV hostess. I am a little nervous as it is something new for me, but I am sure that this will be an interesting experience. I hope that I will manage! I cannot wait to find out who will be representing Ukraine this year. I have no doubt that it is going to be a great representative!” shared Darina Krasnovetska.
Viktor Diachenko hosts the interregional morning show “Morning on UA: PBC”.
“I have dreamt of being on the stage of the national selection for Eurovision, as probably any host in Ukraine. For me, it is a certain switch from the viewer to the process participant. I have already started collecting information about the contestants: stories of achievements and dreams. I want to present each participant with as many details as possible, to show not only the contest song but also the personality to represent Ukraine internationally. We will give the viewers the feeling of personal acquaintance with the contestants,” commented Viktor Diachenko.
The national final for Junior Eurovision 2021 will be broadcast live on UA: KULTURA TV channel on 24 October. The winner will be decided by the jury and online voting to start after all the performances.
Because of the rapid worsening of the epidemiological situation in Ukraine, the final will feature video recordings of the finalists’ live performances. UA: PBC will record the performances of all the finalists in equal conditions. The schedule of the recordings will be made to minimize contacts and ensure the safety of the participants and their parents.
Each finalist will perform one original song. The participants that have entered the final with their own song will perform that song. Those finalists that do not have their own song will perform the song provided by UA: PBC. This song was written by Maryna Krut, a finalist of Vidbir 2020. It was chosen through a creative competition held by UA: PBC.
