UKRAINE – The winner of the Ukrainian national selection for Eurovision 2019 MARUV lead singer, Anna is sure that she could reach the top in the competition. Ukrainian singer Anna of MARUV in an interview with the project โGlory +โ on the YouTube-channel โLux FMโ stated that she considers the winner of Eurovision 2019, the representative of the Netherlands Duncan Lawrence, mediocre.
She also noted that she could reach the top of the competition.
“My chances were quite high. I think I would definitely be in the top three,” the singer said.
According to Anna, her Siren Song number would be different from the BDSM representation of the Icelandic group Hatari.
“I have a fetish, aesthetics. They had a frank punishment, a flogging. Plus a song. Did you remember their song? I can’t still sing it. I had a great song that everyone remembers, everyone sings. Viral movements that everyone knows โI would be the only single-ladies. I watched the performances, watched my own from the final, mine was more interesting for me, there was more action there than many at Eurovision itself,โ the singer said.
Anna Korsun became the winner of the Ukrainian national selection for Eurovision 2019.
On February 25, Zurab Alasania, the head of the board of the National Public TV and Radio Company of Ukraine (NOTU), said that during the negotiations, the representatives of NOTU and Maruv did not reach agreement on her visit to Eurovision 2019 in Israel. The terms of the contract were a rejection of the tour in the Russian Federation before the competition and within three months after it, as well as the attentive attitude of the performer to public statements about the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Maruv responded by saying that the refusal of her tour in Russia was not fundamental for her, but she was โnot ready to come up with slogans, turning her stay at Eurovision into a promotion of politicians.โ
