Hannie Lips, the host of the 1958 Eurovision Song Contest in Hilversum has passed away at the age of 88. Hannie Lips was one of the first Dutch television presenters and Eurovision opened many career opportunities for her afterwards. She also hosted the Dutch national selection a few times after the Hilversum Eurovision.
The 1958 Eurovision Song Contest, won by France, will be remembered for its various technical problems. However, Lips managed to remain professional throughout the show. Lips passed away last week in her home town of Laren.
