EDITORIAL – The national selections are in full swing in Europe and Australia and we decided to check the betting odds for those available.
First of all, let’s see who’s currently in the running to win the Eurovision trophy. According to the available betting odds, Australia (without even the national election songs being available) is considered the favourite to win (and we laugh).
In Norway, TrollfestT are the favourites to win the first semi-final, Steffen Jacobsen the second, Mari Bølla the third and Alexandra Joner the fourth. Though when it comes to the overall winner of the 2022 MGP edition, Elsie Bay is the favourite to represent Norway in Eurovision 2022.
In Latvia, the 2015 entrant and 2022 Supernova returnee, Aminata is the favourite to win the ticket to Turin by a landslide. Citi Zēni follows with a distance of 10 percentage units in the odds. Latvian hunk Markus Riva is far away from winning the Latvian selection, placed 6th in the odds. There are no semi-final odds for the Latvian selection.
In Sweden, and with Melodifestivalen under turmoil due to the government guides regarding the audience attendance sparking possibilities for cancelling the tour of the event across the country, Klara Hammarström is the favourite to win this year. Weirdly (since I would bet my money on him) Theoz is 6th to win the ticket to Turin! I would keep an eye on him though!
Our Melodifestivalen polls will open soon
Let’s go to Italy, the host country of Eurovision 2022 and the Sanremo Festival where Mahmood and Blaco’s duet is the favourite to win the ticket of representing the host country in the event this May. Elisa and Emma follow up while Ana Mena is surprisingly 14th in the odds of winning the annual music festival.
Last but definitely not least, we have the Benidorm Fest 2022 odds, where we see Rigioberta Bandini being the favourite to win the ticket of representing Spain in Eurovision 2022 with 28% chances to do so. Surprisingly Tanxugueiras, the fans of which are doing everything in their power to vote for them in the polls, are following with 22% chances to win.
We also have our own polls for the mentioned shows above. Have a say and vote for your favourite acts in the given links.
