SWEDEN – ABBA announced their 40-year hiatus earlier this year with brand new music. Along with an ambitious live ABBA Voyage Tour. The Eurovision 1974 winners recently released Voyage, a journey ABBAMania fans have been waiting decades for. The album is now No.1 in 19 countries worldwide. Also breaking UK chart records.
Voyage by ABBA has soared to new heights in the global charts since its November 5th release. In keeping with ABBA’s Schlager-Pop roots, the album features new production elements not available in the 1970s and has won over ABBA fans old and new. The album’s lead singles, ‘Don’t Shut Me Down’ and ‘I Still Have Faith In You’, have already topped the UK charts.
ABBA have recently resumed where they left off in 1981. Voyage has sold over 110,000 copies in advance, breaking Take That’s 2010 record. It was their first studio album to top the UK charts since The Visitors in 1981, and their tenth overall, outselling the rest of the top 40 combined. Voyage sold 204,000 copies in its first week, making it the fastest-selling album of 2021. In addition to these sales, it is the fastest-selling vinyl release of the 21st century. Only The Beatles and Elvis spent more time at the top of the UK album charts.
ABBA and the ABBAMania fever are still going strong after almost 40 years. The album dominated the Sverigetopplistan, with all ten tracks reaching the top 30. It was the group’s eighth studio album to hit No.1.
Voyage has sailed to worldwide acclaim. Voyage became the first studio album to top the ARIA charts since Arrivals in 1976, and the third overall. Every song wants to break the glass ceiling of the US charts. Finally, ABBA cracked the top 10 of the Billboard 200 this week, with Voyage becoming their highest charting album in America, at no.2. They topped Billboard’s Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums charts as well. So it’s the week’s best-selling album and the year’s best-selling group album.
Voyage has topped the charts in 19 countries. In addition to the United Kingdom and Australia, there are a number of other countries that have signed up.
