CROATIA – The national broadcaster fired Croatia’s Head of Delegation, Ursula Tolj, and Albina is enraged.
“You are making a big mistake,” Albina tweeted on Tuesday. In the conversation, she described departing HoD Ursula Tolj as a good lady who was wrongfully terminated.
“I know her character and soul,” she remarked. “I believe they’re wrong, but the reasons and people behind it are absurd.”

Jutarnji claims it had nothing to do with Croatia’s exclusion, but Ursula reportedly disregarded HRT costume designer Natasa Svekler while selecting Albina’s outfit for Rotterdam. She chose Juraj Zigman, who is not linked with the station.
A hotel meal for the team and overalls for Albina’s dancers for the red carpet event were also charged to her HRT credit card, the report adds, “with the objective that our delegation is stylishly harmonised.”
But the turning moment allegedly occurred in Croatia as the newspaper claims Ursula chose DORA as a national final for Eurovision 2022 without her superiors’ approval. They reportedly decided to wait until later in the year when the jury was chosen.
Ursula was actually fired for minor infractions and that the broadcaster was waiting for any excuse to pounce. Ursula can’t talk right now since she may be dismissed from the broadcaster for prior internal issues, the publication adds. Ursula has several roles in the broadcaster, as her Instagram profile shows. “TV host TV journalist TV editor Songwriter Traveler” is a role-heavy sentence.
The broadcaster confirmed Ursula’s departure, replacing her with Tomislav Stengl, who manages Dora.
Regardless of the HRT turmoil, Albina stands by her pal.
“You never understand the worth of anything until you lose it,” she said, posting a photo of her delegation’s turquoise carpet.
