UNITED STATES – The first-ever Eurovision project in the USA, the AMERICAN SONG CONTEST was not exactly a triumph.
We spotted poor voting already on TikTok but the disaster seems to come from the negative posts of the American music press (ie Yahoo Music).
But what can describe the show as a disaster is the poor TV ratings, although we all need to be patient and wait for the entire project to conclude to make concrete assumptions.
The first show, which included the first set of quarterfinals, gave RHODE ISLAND the first time to the semi-finals by the juries while the public voting is ongoing.
THE OFFICIAL TV RATINGS
- CBS: NCIS – 6.657.000
- CBS: The Neighborhood – 5.739.000
- CBS: Bob Hearts Abishola – 5.403.000
- FOX: 9-1-1 TV SERIES – 5.372.000
- ฮฮC: AMERICAN IDOL – 5.289.000 (0,5% SHARE) ages 18-49
- FOX: 911 LONE STAR – 4.449.000
- AMERICAN SONG CONTEST – 2.892.000 (0,5% SHARE) ages 18-49

What is wrong with the show?
Watching the show live on NBC last night, we can assume that there are some obvious and some backend problems. For us, the big problem is public voting. It is opened before the show and concludes two days after. The public voting should have been included within the show, alongside the results. In the backend, the inapproachable Kelly and Snoop by the press, not speaking and explaining the project and the funky side of the contest to the press, is another major PR problem of the project.
