PODGORICA, MONTENEGRO – Andrea Demirovic who represented Montenegro at the Eurovision Semifinals in 2009, has spoken about her life and Eurovision in a recent interview.
Having represented her country in Moscow with the song “Just get out of my life”, just missing out on the final, she still considers that time in her career as one of the happiest moments in her life. The song was put together by Ralph Siegel and José Juan Santana Rodríguez, the latter adding a touch of Spanish to the song. The inability to reach the final was supported by the simple motto that there are no favourites and that anything can happen but that disappointment was offset by the 4 months leading up to the final which Andrea describes as her best time. “Doing what I love”, she says.
She claims that she wouldn’t change a thing, that the performance may have been visually lacking but that she gave her all and that the new system of voting may now be beneficial although there are no set rules for such an opinion. Andrea feels that music is the universal language of Eurovision and that a country should not be judged by the language in which they choose to sing. Currently Andrea is working at a music academy, teaching, having had her son just a year ago. At present she is not working as a live performer but her last album was Odlazim by Vladimir Graic.
