It is official. The 1973 Eurovision winner, Anne-Marie David will submit a song to represent France at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her victory!
Since her Eurovision win on behalf of Luxembourg with the evergreen “Tu te reconnaîtras”, Anne-Marie David has been promoting French chanson with passion all over the world, entering the contest once more in Jerusalem for France with “Je suis l’enfant soleil” in 1979.
The new French Official Eurovision Committee has fixed this year’s rule: One popular song, performed in French language. And Anne-Marie David believes she has what it takes to win it all over again with the song “Je manque de toi” (I am missing you).
Penned by Pierre-André Doucet and Jean Musy, the song is a typical and dramatic chanson which respects a French specificity: lyrics, music, performer… and nothing else. You can listen to the song and support Anne-Marie David’s bid to represent France in Malmö on the following page here
