Peter Settman of Brain Academy, has stated that there is strong interest already from multiple broadcasters for the rights to the American Song Contest. The American Song Contest which is the American spin off of the Eurovision Song Contest, has seen ten broadcasters express an interest in the competition. The broadcasters who have shown an interest in the contest include “major players” in the American television market.
Operación Triunfo has been used as the selection process of the Spanish entry for the past 2 years. However, is it possible that Spain will not be using the show as their selection for this year? With the new dates announced for the upcoming OT, it became unlikely that the country will be selecting their singer from the show.

Georgia’s search for their Eurovision 2020 participant will begin in October, GPB has confirmed. The national broadcaster is currently in the midst of holding auditions across Georgia for the competition, with the first shows airing in October.
The first jury members who will determine the winner of New Wave 2019 in Sochi, Russia have been revealed. The jury is headed by Igor Krutoy who founded the contest, and is a major figure within the Russian entertainment industry. He will be joined by: Igor Nikolaev – Singer and composer, Philip Kirkorov – Singer and entertainer, Sergey Lazarev – Eurovision 2016 and 2019 representative for Russia, Leonid Agutin – Songwriter and musician, Anzhelika Varum – Actress and singer
After Nuno Galopim secured the confirmation of two composers for the 2020 Song Festival at the presentation of the composers of the 2019 edition, RTP unveiled, this afternoon, the rules for next year’s edition. Just like last year, the Song Festival will feature sixteen songs in competition, following the same model that elected Conan Osiris for Tel Aviv. 14 composers will be invited by RTP, the remaining places being occupied by a Masterclass candidate and an application from the public song submission, whose deadline is October 15th. The models of the themes should be delivered to RTP by the end of October, while the deadline for delivery of the final versions is scheduled for November 30, and the date of revelation of the composers and singers is unknown.
