GERMANY 🇩🇪
On 29 December 2017, Schulte was confirmed to be one of the six acts competing in Unser Lied für Lissabon, the German national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, with the song “You Let Me Walk Alone”. The song was later released on 20 February 2018. Schulte won the final, held on 22 February, becoming Germany’s entry to the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. In Lisbon, Schulte received 340 points, ending up in fourth place.
AZERBAIJAN 🇦🇿
Singer Chingiz Mustafayev, Azerbaijan’s representative in Tel Aviv, released this afternoon the official music video for his new single, “Bir Sözlə”. Chosen internally by Azerbaijani broadcaster Chingiz Mustafayev represented Azerbaijan at the 2019 Eurovision Festival with “Truth”. After fifth place in the semifinal, the contest reached 8th place in the Grand Final with 302 points, 8 of the Portuguese jury, having been the best result in the country since 2013.
CROATIA 🇭🇷
2019 has been a busy year releasing songs for Nina Kraljić! The Croatian Eurovision 2016 representative released a new single titled “Mala Ljubav”. This follows on from three singles she previously released earlier this year.
DENMARK 🇩🇰
After composing 18 entries for Denmark’s Melodi Grand Prix – 4 of which won and 1 of which went on to win actual Eurovision – Danish writer and producer Lise Cabble finally goes out on her own and releases her first absolute stunner of a single.
ROMANIA 🇷🇴
Santiago has attempted to represent Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest on two occasions. She placed fourth in Selecția Națională 2018 with the song “Auzi cum bate”, a collaboration with Romanian band Jukebox, and competed in Selecția Națională 2019 as a solo artist with the song “Army of Love”, placing third.
HUNGARY 🇭🇺
Since the formation of their band, they have played in festivals such as Sziget Festival in 2010 and have even toured beyond Hungary in places such as Austria, England, the Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia, and Spain. They won the MTV Brand award for New Winning Band. They have toured with Blind Myself. On 6 December 2017, it was announced that AWS would compete in A Dal 2018, the Hungarian national selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Their song Viszlat Nyár (Goodbye Summer) won the competition and as a result, represented Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. They qualified from the 2nd semifinal, and ended in 21st place in the final with 93 points. During their stint at Eurovision Song Contest it was announced that AWS were invited to play at Wacken Open Air in August 2018. In October the same year AWS released their fourth full-length studio record called Fekete Részem which charted at no. 2 at Hungarian Albums Charts a week later.
