AUSTRALIA – It was already teased on the web by SBS team that the country seeks a way to select their Eurovision 2019 entry via a national selection.
Courier Mail reports today that SBS will hold the show “Australia Decides” on February 9th.
Gold Coast got the rights to hold the event winning the bids of Sydney and Melbourne.
Annastacia Palaszczuk, Premier and Trade Minister said: “We’re just continuing to build on the Gold Coast’s international reputation as a powerhouse of Australia’s film and television industry.”
The event will take place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The winner will be deiced by jury and public voting.
Paul Clarke, Blink TV director said: “We have great plans to make the Gold Coast Eurovision Central in February 2019, so spandex and sequins at the ready – it will be an awesome show.”
Submissions due on November 4th.
