MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – It has been revealed that Australia, which will compete as a special guest for the first time in the Eurovision Song Contest, will vote in all three shows at this year’s event. Both the Australian public and jury will cast their votes for both semi finals and the grand final. Australia itself will be participating in the final with Guy Sebastian singing “Tonight Again”.
The shows will be aired live on SBS 1 and then replayed during prime time. Since Australia is divided into three different time zones, the broadcast will vary from state to state. Those in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and Canberra will have to wake up at 5.00 AM to watch the show, Southern and Northern Australia at 4.00 and Western Australia at 03.00 AM.
It has previously been announced that the Amanda Pelman, Richard Wilkins, Danielle Spencer, Jake Stone and Ash London will make up SBS’ professional jury. The broadcaster will reveal its spokesperson on May 18.
