AUSTRIA – Austria will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, having internally selected Vincent Bueno as their representative with the song “Amen”. He was due to compete in the 2020 contest with “Alive” before the event’s cancellation.

On 26 March 2020, ORF confirmed that Vincent Bueno will represent Austria in the 2021 contest. His entry for 2021, entitled “Amen”, was released on 10 March 2021.

Speaking about Amen, Vincent says:

“We have used the past year professionally to find the perfect song at the national and international level and among my own songs – and in the end, we were sure that Amen is exactly that song. The song found me. At first glance, it’s about a dramatic relationship story, but for me, it’s primarily about this inner struggle with your own strengths and weaknesses, that everyone knows, which leads to a bright future.”

ORF (the Austrian broadcaster) have high hopes for the entry, as their Program Director, Kathrin Zechner, reveals:

“It is his powerful empathy that makes Vincent Bueno so special – he will touch Europe in May with his song Amen, and with his charisma and his incredible abilities. He will ensure moments that are as moving as they are unforgettable at the Eurovision Song Contest.”

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Vincent Mendoza Bueno (born 10 December 1985) is an Austrian singer of Filipino descent.

On January 12, 2008, he became the winner of the ORF programme, Musical! Die Show (Musical! The Show), an Austrian television musical contest.

He also served as a support act for Filipino singer Sarah Geronimo’s concert in Vienna. On January 18, 2008, Bueno told the Philippine media of his plans to debut in the Philippines. He then made his first performance on Philippine Television on ASAP XV on August 29, 2010. He also signed a contract under Star Records, an ABS-CBN Entertainment Group Company, to pursue his music career in the Philippines.

LYRICS

I Guess
Yeah You Said That It’s Time For Us To Put
Our Love
To Rest
Dressed In Black Ya Left My Neighbourhood
And I Never Thought You’d Bury Me & You
No I Never Thought We’d Die
But Amen Amen
Tell Me Is This What You Wanted?
Is This What You Wanted?
Amen Amen
Tell Me Is This What You Wanted?
Tell Me Is This What You Wanted?
Amen
I Bet
It’s Just Another Funeral To You
But For Me
It’s The End
The Marching Band Are Playin ‘Gone Too Soon’
And I Never Thought You’d Bury Me & You
No I Never Thought We’d Die
But Amen Amen
Tell Me Is This What You Wanted?
Is This What You Wanted?
Amen Amen
Tell Me Is This What You Wanted?
Tell Me Is This What You Wanted?
It All Feels Like
Ya Didnt Even Try Oh Try Oh Trrrrry Try To Save Us
All This Time
Wasted On A Lie
Amen Amen
Are You Getting What You Wanted?
Hey Are You Getting What You Wanted?
Amen Amen
Are You Getting What You Wanted?
Hey Are You Getting What You Wanted?

ANDORRA 🇦🇩 Following last years efforts by Susanne Georgi it seems now that the government of Andorra sees positive a potential return to the Eurovision Song Contest, a show the popularity of which could put the country back to the international map. Ministry of Tourism would consider such an option under a specified strategy while Ciutadans Compromesos Party is also positive to such an option. As expected the opposition party is not seeing Eurovision as a could option for the country. 7 0
