The Netherlands has become the first country to confirm their participation for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Dutch broadcaster Tros has a contract to air Eurovision up to this year. From next year it will join forces with the Junior Eurovision Song Contest broadcaster Avro to broadcast the event on their new channel AvroTros.
The merger between the two networks comes after the Dutch government made a decision to create a large unified national broadcaster. It is rumoured the new network will organise a national selection with both a semi final and final.
