SVT has published a part of the pre-recorded material that will be aired during the first semifinal. European Broadcasting Union (EBU) representative Lynda Woodruff will bring her very personal view about Sweden, while in the same time showing different parts of Sweden.
European audience might remember Sweden’s peculliar spokesperson that read the votes during last year’s Eurovision final. That was Lynda Woodruff, or actually it was Sarah Dawn Finer playing the characther of Lynda. People following Swedish Melodifestivalen know Sarah Dawn Finer, popular Swedish artist, participating two times before in Melodifestivalen as solo-artist. Lynda Woodruff is a completely fictious charachter inspired by the people working at the EBU. Lynda was made up by Sarah Dawn Finer, making use of her acting skills as well as her talent to create different English-accents, this way making some nice and polite fun of the EBU.
For people in Sweden, Lynda Woodruff is a well-known charachter. She apperead as a comic act during Melodifestivalen 2012 – where Lynda showed Swedish audience how EBU’s preparations for Baku was going, or maybe rather not going that well… That short comic act become immense popular in Sweden. Lynda showed up once again in Melodifestivalen this year. Making Sarah Dawn Finer one of the favourites to actually host the entire Eurovision 2013. Now she will appear anyway, and once again as Lynda Woodruff for the enjoyment for the whole of Europe.
According to SVT, Lynda Woodruff (or Sarah Dawn Finer) will also appear in the second semifinal as well as in the final.
