READ OUR SONGS REVIEW & VOTE FOR JANET
Dear Janet, congratulations for entering the Belarusian final again. Many Eurofans barely know you though, can you tell us a few things about yourself? Thank you! This is a great opportunity and I am grateful to all the readers who are interested in Eurovision and me as an artist and my music. I have been on the professional scene as an artist for over 15 years and graduated from the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts as a performer and vocal coach. I have released a couple of solo albums and done many big concerts in Belarus e.g. with the Presidential Orchestra, and at the Palace of the republic as well as many TV and radio projects. Also concerts abroad for example in Poland and Lithuania as well as the opening of the Olympics in Beijing and tours in the country with bands like Boney M, TATU, Baccara, Army of Lovers. I have taken part in the national selection for Eurovision in Belarus three times. Last year was quite successful for me! I got to the finals and performed the song “You will be here” by the talented authors Ylva and Linda Persson. The song was loved by many! We did a great performance and filmed the video for the song which can be found here:
Why are you entering the Belarusian national final with a Swedish song?
This year I got about 300 songs from authors from different countries, but my choice stayed on the song Supernova by Ylva and Linda Persson from Sweden and William Taylor from the UK. It has a special energy and depth and meaning to me and I’m ready to show it to the people.
Why is your song different from the other songs? Why should Belarusians and eventually Europeans vote for this song? This is a special song with a special energy! Supernova – new life! A life full of happiness and joy! A dream come true! We are working on the performance. We understand the competition and want to make something unusual. It’s important for me to give a great show, sing well and surprise the people. My goal is to bring love, hopes and happiness to people with my music. To represent my home country in this contest is a very responsible and honourable opportunity.
If you win the national final who is the first person who you instantly call or message?
The team of the song, my husband and the authors would be next to me at that moment!
If you were allowed to bring a lucky charm on stage on 26/12 what would that be?
My big family, my 4 brothers and 3 sisters! But unfortunately you cannot be more than 6 persons on stage for the act.
