MINSK, BELARUS – Surprisingly, Belarus will also pick their entry before clock ticks 12 on December 31st. We know the 15 songs that will compete on December 26th. As we know from earlier years, it doesn’t have to mean that the winning song will actually represent the country in Vienna. Anyway, here you can read the review of the fifteen songs we do know.
Napoli – My dreams: They’ve tried also for Copenhagen, but they didn’t have much luck. Individually they sound kinda good, but when they sing together, it’s really hard to listen to them. This song is maybe a ballad, but it won’t wake up any emotion in you.
Lis – Angel: It starts as a ballad, but it’s rising to an almost uptempo song. It seems that he does know how to sing, also backing vocals made it sound better, but it is clear that it is almost too much for him. He might sound better on NF, I really hope, because this is a good song.
Dariya – Love is my colour: Well it is clear like sky on a sunny day that this girl does not know how to sing. Also her song is nothing special. You’ll forget it the minute it’s over. There is just not much more to say about it, but that for sure it won’t win.
Gunesh – I believe in a miracle: The veteran of Belarusian national selection. Fans across the Europe are expecting her any year now and this one might be hers. Gunesh’s song is not a typical Eurovision song, but a professional can make an amazing performance with this music and don’t forget that she is one of the few people from there that can actually sing.
Muzzart – Only dance: Imagine a cabaret song playing in a Charlie Chaplin movie. Girl has a good voice, but it’s a shame it’s being spent on a song like this one. Honestly it is really catchy, but at Eurovision it would be considered as a joke entry.
Valeriya Sadovskaya – Summer Love: Really soft version of Alyosha’s sweet people. Finally a bit of harder sound. I can already imagine this girl rocking the stage during national final. But the bigger question is will the public there like it. I certainly do.
Rostany – Electric toys: This is an electro/rock song and not a good one. There is not much more to say about it. Boys know how to rock, but at same time they don’t, if you understand me. Well, someone has to be last.
Janet – Supernova – One more person from Belarus who doesn’t know how to sing. On moments it’s a ballad, on moments it’s an uptempo song. I have to ask my self who did songs and performers like this qualified for the NF.
Alexey Gross – Stand as one: It starts slowly and it grows to a very good pop song. I like it, but I don’t love it. Alexey sounds good and I bet that girls there love him. Another song I see as a potential winner.
MILKI – Accent: Rybak’s girls. You know them like that for sure. I was expecting a much more better song from Alexander. Anyway, you all heard it already for sure and you know how much it is catchy and any further description is sufficient. I am gonna call them PCDs of Belarus.
Uzari & Maimuna: This duo is also one of the hot favorites the become the next representative. Uzari is good singer, not an amazing one, but he does know how to control his voice. Maimuna is making a special experience with her violin and maybe because of her they could win.
BeatreeS – Fighter: This is another girl group, but comparing their song to MILKI’s it is much more serious and better, at least for my taste. This could go straight to MTV. A very, very good pop song.
Vital Voronko – Drive: Belarusian language is not forgotten. A very strange mix of an uptempo rockish tune with folk. Yes, it is possible, it’s Belarus. People might like this the most as it is in their native language.
Tasha ODI – Giving up your love: It is more than clear that they are counting more on stage performance than on song or singing. There is nothing I would say about this song, except that you just can either love, either hate it.
Anastasia Malashkevich – Don’t save my name: A very good ballad, not a perfect one, but it is quite interesting. On moments her voice is quite irritating, but again she sounds powerfull. Listening to all of the songs, this one seems the best, at least for me.
