SPAIN – Just finished the 2022 edition of the Benidorm Fest and just a few minutes after Chanel raised the bronze microphone, the celebration of the Spanish pre-selection has already been confirmed again in 2023. This has been confirmed by the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, in a tweet, in which he congratulated Chanel on her victory.

The 2023 Benidorm Fest will start in the first quarter of this year with the constitution of a working group between the three administrations involved: RTVE, the Generalitat Valenciana and the City Council.
The preparations for the 2023 edition begin with the forecast, whenever the pandemic allows it, that the event will expand, with more activities in the city during the week and a greater presence of Valencian artists.
“The Benidorm Fest has been a success. A success backed by viewers, more than ten million, and above all by the atmosphere that has been created in this city. It is the moment of emotional recovery and it is the embryo of what is going to be the consolidation of the festival”, explained Puig. “Over the next few years, we are going to continue working with RTVE to get the most out of it. Benidorm has not only been in the news in Spain but also in the rest of Europe”, he added.
Puig has referred to the festival as a strategic piece in “the tourist recovery of the Valencian Community and its emblem: Benidorm”. Hotel occupancy this weekend has reached 60%, which contributes to deseasonalize in a complicated time.
