BULGARIA – Bulgarian HoD spoke to 24chasa.bg about Eurovision 2017. In the interview she says that she didn’t expect to do so well but she really hoped for it as everything changed when Sofia hosted the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The countries in the top were the best in performance and staging but there is only one winner for the show. This year the winner is either loved or hated by the audience but coming second Bulgarians should not consider it as a shameful result.
Teaming up with record labels is the best solution for Bulgaria as they are the experts of the music industry and know what the audience and the fans want to hear and see. This year 15 teams from various companies invited to submit their proposals. There was no specific criteria in deciding the composer bringing the example of Louisa Sobral and Jamala.
Behind the scenes Bulgarian HoD mentions that Chris forgot his jacket twice and due to the cold in Kyiv he turned ill towards the Grand Final. In the end she concluded that the cost for Eurovision 2017 was less than 50,000 Euros as most of the costs covered by sponsors.
