LDN EUROVISION PARTY 2022 (LONDON) – Citi Zēni are an award-winning, 6-piece band from Riga, who were formed at the beginning of 2020. It was actually the director of their Eurovision 2022 entry who made them think about the salad song and they did creative work with the idea in two songwriting camps.
Meeting them at the LDN EUROVISION PARTY in London was fun. The six Latvian guys immediately loved our Lina and make her feel special.
Citi Zēni members are following Eurovision since 2000 when the country entered the contest and they love Maria Naumova who brought the trophy to their country and of course Brainstorm.
Jānis explains to our Lina the way to make the Latvian salad although they were searching among them for… cucumbers! (no comment)
They have been already for a day in London and managed to see Big Ben, London Eye, and the Tube (they did have to do that – no comment again).
Closing the interview, Citi Zēni told us how 12 points sound in Latvian, hoping to hear that many times in Turin’s Grand Final and of course they were so sweet giving a group hug to our Lina.
The band released their debut album, Suņi Iziet Ielās, to much critical acclaim and have already started work on the follow-up album, planning to release a second single from it shortly after the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest has taken place.
The eco-friendly sextet is made up of Jānis on vocals, Dagnis who contributes vocals and saxophone, Reinis on keyboards, Krišjānis playing the guitar, Roberts giving us bass, and Toms on drums.
- Latvia will perform in the first semi-final on May 10
