ITALY – A meeting with Stefano Lo Russo, mayor of the city of Turin, and the councillors for Culture, Rosanna Purchia, and Tourism and Major Events, Mimmo Carretta, will take place tomorrow morning, 10 January 2022, to take stock of Eurovision Song Contest 2022.
In fact, if the conduct of the competition is not in question, the organization of all collateral events must necessarily take into account the pandemic situation.
The first event, as already announced, will be on January 25th for the draw for the Semifinals. The handover between Rotterdam and Turin will also take place during the ceremony.
The event, which should take place at Palazzo Madama, foresees the presence of about a hundred people including the delegation from the Netherlands, led by the mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb, the RAI leaders and those of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
At the moment there is an outline program that will have to be revised based on the evolution of infections in Italy and in the rest of Europe.
Also according to Turin daily, the organization continues and the sponsorship problems would be resolved in order to respond in the best possible way to the expectations of the economic categories of Turin.
There should also be no problems with the production of the event, which will involve local companies and professionals.
Of course, the hope of those who are working on the organization of the Eurovision Song Contest is that the peak of infections will be overcome in the coming weeks and that the increase in vaccination coverage will allow limiting the prevention measures.
