VIENNA, AUSTRIA – OGAE Austria held its fan club meeting on October 19th at the Gugg bar in the Austrian capital city. The host of the evening was Reinhard Ehret from OGAE Germany.
More than the Eurovision cover contest which was organized during the meeting (and was eventually won by Joe Stain and its version of Rybak’s “Fairytail”), the evening will be remembered by Austrian fans for the presence of two Eurovison ladies.
French singer Anne-Marie David, who won the contest for Luxembourg in 1973 with “Tu Te Reconnaîtras” and represented France in 1979 with “Je Suis L’Enfant Soleil”, performed her hits on stage: a 40-minute long concert to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her victory. What a gift for her fans! They could even enjoy “Du Bist Da”, the German version of her winning entry.
But the icing on the cake came with the unexpected appearance of Conchita Wurst, the 2014 Austrian representative. The audience had the chance to meet their entrant for Copenhagen, and the artist gave an interview on stage about her future participation.
Once again a perfect OGAE party!
