UKRAINE – We truly wonder how the Ukrainian national broadcaster managed to achieve all this chaos, following the national selection, VIDBIR.
Today, the Ukrainian national broadcaster held a special press conference with the aftermath of the national selection, followed by the need to clarify a series of matters.
THE ISSUE OF CRIMEA
It has been known that Alina Pash, the winner of the national final and now Eurovision 2022 representative, has visited Crimea. Alina, claiming she did it in a legal way, shared classified documents for it. On the other hand, UA: PBC declares they are unaware of these documents and they will investigate their validity.
UA: PBC CEO Mykola Chernotytskyy is sad with the fact that the show was turned into a political stage regarding the current border conflict with Russia, but seems that the broadcaster forgets that most songs (especially explained in the postcards, prior to each performance) were based on the sentiment of nationality!
WHY THREE RESULT-CARDS
The mistake in the results announcement led to speculation about the validity of the results. The national broadcaster says that the results have been double-checked and verified by PwC and that Timur held three cards for technical reasons, although we wonder why he kept in his hands, false results?
THE KALUSH ORCHESTRA REACTION
Regarding the objection of the KALUSH ORCHESTRA, the national broadcaster has to answer why they were not able to see the results but the jury member Yaroslav Lodygin explained that he gave them low points because other acts were better for him. The broadcaster also explained that it’s the producer’s privilege and right to adopt the running order in a suitable way for the continuity of the show. Such a common practice forced the change of KALUSH ORCHESTRA in the running order a few hours before the final.
HIDDEN RESULTS
While the Ukrainian national broadcaster keeps shouting that the results have been verified twice by PwC, the full results are not public, yet. This is why journalists question Honcharenko’s statement that Wellboy was not second in the public voting!
