ZAGREB, CROATIA – Nina Kraljić finally announced by HRT as the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest representative. Croatia returns to the Eurovision Song Contest after an absence of two years with the The Voice of Croatia winner Nina Kraljić.
“It is my great honor and pleasure for us after two years of absence from the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm represent Nina Kraljic – last year’s winner The Voice. Nina will perform in the first semifinal on May 10, and I believe in its great success and entry into the finals which will be held May 14 in front of more than 200 million viewers. The song will be very interesting, suitable for Nina’s voice and I am confident that we will introduce in the best light, as only she knows, said the head of HRT’s team competition for the Eurovision Song Contest”, Zeljko Butcher.
“There were no doubts about HRT’s choice in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest and the reason for choosing her was the massive voting towards Nina in the show”, concludes Zeljko Butcher.
“In only a year great things happened to me, from winning the show The Voice of Croatia to three nominations for the Porin, and now I go to Sweden to represent Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest”, Nina says, adding “i expect great performances from my appearance, and I hope that we will see the results worth of the effort. The most important thing to me is to present Croatia in the best way!”.
The song remains a surprise and will be a modern fresh song under her new record label Universal Music. “We are aware that the Eurovision contest is not only the most votes. Our team, which has experience and recognition of the Contest, in cooperation with the Croatian Radio and Nina Kraljic chose a song that we believe will leave a lasting impression among Eurovision audience”, said marketing manager at Universal Music Croatia Nina Meden.
Nominated for Porin award in three categories, Nina has also won public awards for best young singer and released her first album including her début single “Zaljuljali smo svijet”. HRT will announce the Eurovision 2016 entry on March 9th.
