CYPRUS – This afternoon we got to listen (finally) the anticipated (for some) Cyprus entry for Eurovision 2021, performed by a singer who had no real career in Greece or Cyprus until recently.
El Diablo is the official title for the Cypriot Eurovision entry. After listening to it, the title can surely change to ALEJANDRO or BAD ROMANCE and claim its originality from Lady GaGa.
It’s disappointing to say that no matter any effort to describe and conclude whether you like the song or not, one thing is profound: The song lacks originality.
Twitter got on fire. Comments are humiliating for the image of the song and the general sentiment is that the entry has no chance in Rotterdam.
But some can say that it simply reminds us of Lady Gaga songs and that could be OK. The problem is that it’s not the only thing the creators copied.
The video clip was copied exactly from Zara Larsson’s Love me Land. We don’t claim the news but it was Zara Larsson herself mocking the Cypriot entry.

Seriously, Cyprus tonight was completely humiliated. Congratulations to the heads of CyBC for their hard work finding a copied song with a copied video.
In the meantime, EL DIABLO is only available for streaming on PANIK RECORDS website and not on any there platform. They should keep their masterpiece there…!
