Olivier Rocher from France
After so many years of waiting, the Czech Republic is offering a more than decent entry (even though last yearโs song was a good try). โI Standโ is a nice, classy and powerful ballad like we like them. Gabrielaโs voice is beautiful, the melody is great and the whole song is king of moving. Like in every contest, such ballad may face a real problem: how can it stand out more in the line-up? Once again, it will all depend on the staging. But, for the first time I do believe in a Czech qualification for the final.
Andreas Athanasiou from Greece
After they didn’t qualify in 2015 which was unfair in my opinion they came back stronger and ready to fight for their spot in the final. They are sending a beautiful girl, Gabriella, with an amazing voice. The song is powerful, relatable and full of emotion. If they bring it on by the performance on the Semi-Final then they will deserve a place in the final and if it doesn’t happen I will be pissed with you, Europe!
Victor Cruz Lafuente from Spain
Haven’t we heard this type of song already? We have many similar songs like this in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Typical classical song, although I doubt it will remain in the viewers’ minds after hearing the rest of the songs. Nevertheless, the Czech Republic has improved the song level if we judge from their past. If they want to qualify for the final will have to offer something more on stage, something not sure for the time being.
