ICELAND – Daði Freyr, winner of Söngvakeppnin 2020, released an acoustic version of “Think About Things“, a song he would have performed in Rotterdam.
After a second place in the 2017 national final, Daði Freyr, together with Gagnamagnið, won Söngvakeppnin 2020 with “Think About Things“, one of the favourite songs to triumph at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020.
The singer revealed that he does not intend to participate in the Söngvakeppni, but guarantees that, if invited, he will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
Debuting in 1986, Iceland has 32 participations in the Eurovision Festival, with the best result being the second place reached in 1999 and 2009 by Selma and Yohanna, respectively.
Out of the Grand Final since 2015, Iceland returned to it in Tel Aviv with the Hatari and “Hatrið mun sigra” reaching the 10th place with 232 points.
