CROATIA – On Monday morning we had the chance to talk to Damir Kedžo, the 2020 Eurovision representative, actually a few hours before he releases the music video for his remix! Most of the Europeans (at least the experienced ones) would remember Damir from trying to get to the Eurovision stage in 2005 as member of a group while his only effort was officially by participating in the 2011 DORA edition.
Now that Eurovision 2020 is cancelled we asked him if there are any discussions with HRT, but it was fair to get the answer that in Croatia there is no Eurovision discussion, trying to heal from the results of the quarantine. But it wasn’t only COVID-19 which stormed Croatia (but thankfully with minimum possible casualties) but also two big earthquakes in Zagreb in March and in April.
Discussing the EBU show EUROVISION: EUROPE SHINE A LIGHT, unlike us, Damir proven to be a loyal fan of music and unity, considering the event as a great chance for Europe to be one.
Damir also recalls how the preparation of his Eurovision entry started and how did he wanted to shape his bid for DORA 2020.
Asked with which of the 2020 participants he would consider recording a duet after a minute of thought Damir chose the Norwegian and the Polish entrants because they are closer to his music genre.
He also reveals the stage presentation for the song in Rotterdam and of course, we asked him which would have been his lucky charm in case he could bring anything/anyone who wants on stage despite any EBU rule: his 10-month puppy!
At the end of the interview, we made a magic trick to Damir via Skype, which you will love it!
