SWEDEN – The host of the 2013 and 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, Petra Mede, will play a lead role in a new SVT drama entitled “Bonusfamiljen” (Bonus family). Mede will play a divorced and uncommunicative architect. She has previously had minor roles in several TV shows. “I think that the series brings up something that has never been visualized on television before. We are extremely proud, because we think this series is so darn good”, Petra said of her new television venture. She added, “If I may, I am happy as a show host, comedian and actor. But it is in this area, acting, that I feel I have so much to learn still. There is such a development, and it is always fun to be in a position where you are going somewhere new. So I’d love to continue”. However, the television personality said she would never pass up an opportunity to host Eurovision again. “If I had to choose between presenting Eurovision or recording a new season? Wow, that’s hard. Or not. Of course it cannot compete with Eurovision. It has precedence at any price. But I’d rather not choose”. The new television drama starring Petra Mede airs from January 30 on SVT.
