HORSENS, DENMARK – Danish national broadcaster is kicking off their national selection for Stockholm and after the poor result in Vienna they are ready to fight back and re-host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017 with a revamped Dansk Melodi Grand Prix.
Today DR announced that the national selection final DMGP will take place in the city of Horsens on February 13th. The city seems to have been chosen as a “sorry for not hosting Eurovision 2014” as we all remember how the cities bidding for 2014 Eurovision edition reacted when Copenhagen took the job.
So, we are back to Horsens the city which hosted the 2005, 2007, 2006 national final and the venue Forums Horsens will host 4,000 auditors.
THE PRESS CONFERENCE
Following the announcement of the final and DMGP shot city for 2016, DR and Forum Horsens hold separate press conferences. During the DR press conference DR expressed its happiness to return DMGP back to Horsens and they are all sure it will be a great show. Ticket sales will commence on november 2nd and submissions are opened in the DR web platform until September 8th. DR emphasises they are looking for any type of songs not just typical Eurosongs.
