DENMARK – A new record for submitted songs to the Danish national final Melodi Grand Prix was set yesterday with 1.115 songs hoping to make the cut and be one of the 10 finalists. This beats last year’s record of 982 songs.
During the next weeks a jury will listen to the songs and in the end only 10 of them will participate in Melodi Grand Prix 2017 on February 25th in Boxen Arena.
DR Head of Entertainment Jan Lagermand Lundme is pleased that so many songs was submitted. “I am extremely happy to see so many submitted songs and a bit relieved that so many wants to participate. This means that the country is still backing up the contest and a feeling that we now are together in the goal to get Denmark in next year’s Eurovision Grand Final.”
He has already heard some of the submitted songs and he promises that there will be some good songs in the final with a new and modern sound.
