DENMARK – Following the announcement that Greece needs to finalise and making their visuals finally working, RTP and EBU approved one more extra rehearsal, this time for Denmark. Rasmussen’s act using a snow effect on stage presenting the Vikings trapped in a snow storm like we all know from the comics and history but the effect is now working properly or adequately. This is why the Danish delegation asked for extra rehearsal to finalise it. DR’s Jan Lagermand Lundme asked for drastic changes in the stage presentation.
“We addressed our concerns and had the feeling that they understood what we were talking about,” Lundme said. “But we were far from being satisfied after today’s rehearsal. It looked even worse than before!. The producers seem to know what we want it to look like, but it seems like the people who are supposed to actually perform the effects do not.”
It seems that DR is upset with the organisers who actually asked to pre-pay for this snow. This doesn’t mean that Rasmussen has to attend though
“We did this when Copenhagen hosted the contest,” Lundme says. “If the special effect isn’t working as it should, it gets another test. What we want is a wild storm, not a lovely Christmas snow and specks of snowflakes in his beard. That just doesn’t work, and until we get it right we just have to be a little irritating. In the worst case scenario — and I sincerely hope it won’t come to that — we will simply drop the snow. The way it looks at the moment, we might be better off without it. But I’m certain that the production team will be able to solve the problem before Rasmussen goes on stage next Tuesday.”
