MOLDOVA – Yesterday, Moldovan national broadcaster has officially confirmed its participation in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest next May in Lisbon. Now TRM will have to kick off the national preselection process although it is still unknown the format of the national or internal selection.
It is interesting to notice that the Moldovan President might have hinted the 2018 Moldovan representatives as two days ago he posted on Instagram a cheerful message to The DoReDoS band who represent the country at New Wave Festival.
The DoReDoS band are currently out of the top three of the jury voting while we still wait for the final night on Wednesday and also people’s choice award too see how the manage. But the media and press in Sochi are impressed by them and their cheerful entry in Sochi could make them big favs for Lisbon.
The DoReDoS band is Marina Djundiet, Eugeniu Andrianov and Sergiu Mita. The band exists since September, 2011. ‘We all come from a small provincial town of Rybnitsa, which is located in Transdniestria. We met and gathered the band in that town. Then we moved to Chisinau to improve our creative abilities.’ The band’s members graduated from the Higher Musical Academy of Arts in Chisinau. Eugeniu Andrianov received the Second Prize of the ‘Slavianski Bazaar’ International Festival in 2013. In 2014, the DoReDoS band won the George Grigoriu International Pop Music Contest (Romania). Also, the team has become a finalist of the national shortlisting for the Eurovision Song Contest (in 2015, and 2016), and a finalist of the ‘X Factor – Romania’ TV project.
These musicians have a busy tour schedule. ‘When we find time, we like to spend it outdoors by the river or in the countryside, where there is peace and quiet. We adore the sea. And, of course, we value the time spent at home with our families.’ The band participated in the ‘Transformation’ TV project in 2017. Exercising in the gym and TRX suspension training are on our daily schedule. Sport has become a considerable part of our life.’
Musical preferences of the creative trio are diverse, from the songs performed by Nikolai Noskov and Leonid Agutin to the works of S. Wonder, Pink and Sting. ‘We like different artists. We value their musical thinking, creativity and waves of positive energy! It inspires us. We want to move forward to our lofty objectives. We want to record our album, attain love of the audience and become the famous artists. Our nearest plans are to represent our country and ourselves at the ‘New Wave’ Contest. We would like to record a couple of new songs in the summer.’
Eugeniu didn’t like music lessons at school. He could not stand it when the others sang out of tune. Sergiu fully agrees with Eugeniu. Marina liked geography and handicrafts, and all other lessons were ranked as the least favorite. Sergiu has got a beautiful voice, a lyrical tenor. His music teacher noticed the child’s talent when Sergiu was in the third grade. Eugeniu began to sing with a high baritone when he was ten years old, ‘I really wanted to sing, and the only one who believed in me was my mother.’ Marina’s timbre is soprano. She grew up in the musician’s family, ‘Music has been around me since childhood, and I did not hesitate to choose this profession J.’
The artists admit that they believe in the help of the Supreme Forces, ‘We go to the church before any important event. Faith is our talisman.’ All of the three members dreamed of becoming musicians since childhood. They love films directed by L. Gaidai, E. Ryazanov, N. Mikhalkov. Sergiu can cook. His specialties are crabstick salad and chicken breast baked in the oven with a special sauce. Sergiu keeps the recipes secret! Marina likes to cook Italian pasta, lasagna and hominy, Moldavian national dish. Eugeniu can make the best tea for everyone.
The DoReDoS band would be happy to receive a song as a gift from the leading composers of Russia J! The Moldavian trio spends every day with a rhythm in their hearts, with a melody in their souls and with music in their life in general! They continue to learn singing, and improve their dancing skills. They are afraid of dentists and dead calm in their careers. They earned their first money for performing at the wedding celebrations. All of the three artists are purposeful people, ‘In order to succeed, one needs a goal and a strategic plan. And, of course, a staunch belief in dream, perseverance and work.’
They usually compose music and write lyrics by themselves, ‘We will name our first album ‘The Night Dream’. Just like first song of ours, which attained the listeners’ love in Moldova. We have been dreaming of becoming finalists of the ‘New Wave’ Contest for at least five years. We have been watching it from the very beginning. And we waited for our time to come J! We have a huge support group this year, but all these people will be watching us on their TV screens. Naturally, we wish a huge success to all the finalists, good mood and balance! And we wish confidence, peace of mind and tranquility to ourselves.’
