COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – DR has listened to all 872 songs that have been sent in to Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014 and the head of entertainment Rasmus Ladefoged is impressed with the level of the songs.
He says that it seems that the songwriters have found the best of what they’ve got and the Danish victory in Malmö have inspired people to send in more and better songs for next year’s contest.
A secret jury with musicians and experts have been listening to all the 872 songs and now they’ve got the hard job to find the songs that will compete in the national final in March.
Rasmus Ladefoged states that DR will find the song that can win the Eurovision Song Contest once again and they are looking for the songs that start a party and have something to say.
The jury will find six songs to compete in Odense and DR will invite four wildcards and they are already in contact will possible wildcards.
Usually DR announces the competing artist a few weeks before the contest but Rasmus Ladefoged cannot set a date for the announcement yet.
Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014 will be held in Arena Fyn in Odense on March 8.
