ATHENS, GREECE – The time has come. This Thursday, December 4th the 73rd General Assembly of the European Broadcasting Union takes place in Geneva. On December 5th the final voting to accept new active members takes place. NERIT is one of the broadcaster applying for active membership, the voting outcome of which will determine the participation of Greece in Vienna’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Since the 2014 exceptional participation of the country based on two missed deadlines to achieve active membership, Greece is now given an ultimate by the Eurovision 2015 organisers that without and EBU approval for active membership the country will not be eligible to participate in Vienna under exception. Though it seems that things are going well with the negotiations and the final application by NERIT and we hope to have good news for the Greek fans on Friday afternoon.
DID YOU KNOW?
The Greek national broadcaster has already submitted the necessary paperwork to the EBU Eurovision Song Contest department in order to be eligible for potential participation if active membership approved on December 5th
