The Reference Group meeting yesterday didn’t decide on the hosting city for Eurovision 2014. There are now three cities in the run for hosting the event with Copenhagen having two options. Already Aalborg and Fredericia pulled out of the race and Parken Stadium withadrew as hosting venue.
Boxen, Herning seems to be the ideal solution for DR to host the event but the problem is that the city is very far away from the international airport of Copenhagen. If chosen most visitors will stay in Århus
B & W hallen, Copenhagen: The building might not be a suitable for a Eurovision event especially when it comes to acoustics. It most likely merge to become one big venue.
The tent at DR Byen, Copenhagen: Seems a bit weird to have a tent and a propped stage and sounds a bit amateur to have a Eurovision event in a place like that, but always there is a first for any of the ideas.
Prison yard, Horsens: It seems according to eurovisionary.com that this is the likely bid to be chosen for Eurovision 2014. There are only standing places for the audience and no booths for the commentators who will be allocated in … prison cells! The constrution of the building and the acoustics could also be a big problem for such an event.
It is quite unfair as a multi arena is underway in Copenhagen but not in due time for Eurovision 2014. Though Copenhagen and its international airport make the capital a favourite for the hosting bid.
