COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – Yesterday DR revealed the man who will design the Eurovision 2014 stage. Today the idea of the stage unveiled as well. DR’s Jan Lagermand Lundme explained how the B&W Hallerne will become a unique Eurovision venue.
The organizers plan to set the stage in the middle of the industrial stronghold: “Right now we are working to place the stage right in the middle of B&W Hallern, where the party will take place, because the stage will then become an island and a centre. It is here the participants will shine and here we will come together”, says Jan Lagermand Lundme.
The aim is to create the necessary facilities for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest but also to preserve the raw industrial look of the area. Key factor for a sucess is to have the best acoustics even if they are needd to cover the walls.
Also along with Wonderful Copenhagen, DR is planning to make a true Eurovision experience for the visitors next May: “Eurovision Island will be full of restaurants, bars and an entertainment stage. It will be an environment that uses both the existing facilities but also with more of an edge”, says Ulrik Ammundsen, Event Chief at Wonderful Copenhagen.
Decisive role will be that of the volunteers!
