MILAN, ITALY – Several Eurostars have been nominated at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards. The nominees include Marco Mengoni, Daniel Kajmakoski and Serebro.
Marco Mengoni, who represented Italy at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with “L’essenziale” has been nominated as Best Italian Act. It is the third time the singer has been placed in the category.
Daniel Kajmakoski, who represented FYR Macedonia at this year’s Eurovision in Vienna, is one of five nominees in the best Adria act.
Russian band Srebero, who came third at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest are up for Russia’s best act.
There are also wildcard nominees which have to be voted in by the public in order to be nominated. Among the wildcards is 2010 Eurovision winner Lena. The singer has already won the best German act on two occasions, in 2011 and 2013.
Also in the wildcard selection is 2015 Russian representative Polina Gagarina. In order to nominate any of these wildcard Eurostars just tweet #Nominate[artist name] together with #MTVEMA. Voting closes September 14.
