GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – European Broadcasting Union and ORF announced this morning the participant list of countries for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. 39 countries will finally participate in Vienna:

In the allocation draw of the semifinals set for January 26th we will have two semifinals with 16 and 17 countries respectively. 16 countries will participate on May 19th and 17 countries on May 21st. The draw will be aired live on http://www.eurovision.tv and in full report on http://www.oikotimes.com. The allocation draw of the semifinals will also include in which of them the BIG 5 and Host country Austria will vote in.
“Throughout the year, we are in close dialogue with a number of the broadcasters, for example to work with them to strengthen the brand in their country, or to show them the potential in taking part in the contest,” says Jon Ola Sand, Executive Supervisor of the contest on behalf of EBU/EUROVISION. “ORF has been a great partner in helping to achieve exactly that,” he adds.
EBU is in close contact with Ukrainian and Turkish national broadcasters for potential return in the future.
