RUSSIA – Russia’s Little Big band was one of the favourites for Eurovision 2020 and fans wanted to see them in Eurovision 2021. Little Big frontman Ilya Prusikin gave lots of explanations.
Little Big and Channel One took the decision not to enter Eurovision 2021 as there were many talented artists in Russia for the job, trying to avoid being like those who go to Eurovision four times (no names mentioned).

During the national final, the group said, rather briefly, that they had taken the decision together with Russian public broadcaster Channel One. They added that there are “many talented artists in Russia”.
It was clear that the host and Ilya were referring through the nickname “GAZAREV” to Sergey Lazarev. with the LITTLE BIG lead singer asking “why him since we have hundreds if not thousands of cool artists in Russia”…
In any case, the LITTLE BIG group were surprised they were chosen for Eurovision 2021 in the first place and that UNO was never intended for the contest, but it was the only song CHANNEL ONE wanted.
The group hoped that Channel One would choose the food-inspired number as it would be more “idiotic”.
