THE NETHERLANDS – According to TELEGRAAF.nl, 4% of the Eurovision 2020 ticketholders refunded their tickets under the first phase of refund window officially closed. The EBU stated that:
“We have received a few more requests in recent days. The largest group would like to keep them for next year and we are happy with this confidence.”
There will be another refund window as soon as the EBU and Dutch organisers announce the official dates for the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest edition, which will be in the second or third week of May 2021, as oikotimes already reported.
It seems that only a few decided to return their tickets back and this could mean that more people can be lucky to attend the 2021 Eurovision edition, having in mind that everything will be green-lighted by the Dutch government.
Although Rotterdam and the event itself have been confirmed to take place in 2021 by the EBU, the issue of the audience and the press has not yet clarified. The Dutch government said that they won’t open mass events unless a vaccine is released while there are big rumours that next year there will be extremely limited press area.
