THE NETHERLANDS – Now that the lockdown starts to lift off, EBU started to clarify what will happen with Eurovision 2021. So what do we know so far about next year’s Eurovision Song edition?
First of all, EBU confirmed during the EUROPE SHINE A LIGHT show that Rotterdam will be the host city of the contest. A few days later EBU clarified the issue with the tickets.
Now it remains to be seen if the hosts will remain the same especially after the social media criticism for their lack of appealing during the show EUROPE SHINE A LIGHT.
Today local press reported information about the venue and therefore for the dates of the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest edition. A representative of AHOY ARENA stated that it was inevitable to cancel events for next May to fit the Eurovision Song Contest, setting the contest sometime between the 2nd and 3rd week of May.
Practically this means that Eurovision 2021 will take place either on 11,13 & 15 of May, or 18, 20 and 22 of May.
Concerning the Korfbal League, AHOY ARENA representative stated that the event will be concluded by April 10, therefore, there is time for the stage to be set up. There will be a need to built some extra facilities and the stage construction will start around mid-April.
